Ok so dad has an aol email and it appears to be sending out links (Random rubbish to his contacts).

The emails come from his email and @aim.com, but his email is @aol.com, so bit confused there.

There is nothing in his sent items, but a ton of mail delivery error bounce backs.

It's as if his email is cloned, but then I think maybe the account is compromised because these spam links are sent to his previously used email contacts, including my email.

Any ideas folks? I've ran AVAST and spybot on the pc and it's infection free.

Have you had him change his aol password to see if that helps? It happened to my gran years ago and she didn't know anything about it until aol contacted her about emails getting sent every 3 seconds from her account. I believe they just had her reset her password but I'm not 100% sure anymore.

I have told him to change his password (Last night). They were not regular before (around 3 lots over 3 weeks) so time will tell.

I've read its most likely a spoofed from address, but I don't understand how it would know his contacts.
