All about RM and Barca however. Jose's last season? Probably. Fired or leaves?

Soldado got a hat trick for Valencia today, he's a great player. Wasting away in that team now.

Scored in the 88th and 90th mins.

(Technically he got four, scored an OG too)

I also had no idea Real Madrid had signed Sahin and Altintop!

Yeah, saw those two while flicking through RM on ultimate team. Kinda weird how RM haven't signed someone huge. They signed Ozil last season but nobody big this season. I think they need a striker.

Also noticed Athletico Madrid have replaced Aquero with Falcao. Didn't know that.

Zaragoza V Real Madrid tonight on ss1

Who's the guy on coms? can't believe he just said "I have a little feeling regarding the league there's going to be a swap around [regarding Barca and Madrid's finish positions]"

How can he make that deduction on the basis of seeing Madrid lose to Barca, and then play 45 mins in the league?

I think Madrid came very close in those two pre-season games. They would have won both of them if their finishing had been better, instead a combination of poor shots/greed meant they fluffed them and then obviously they ended up going behind and losing their rag. If Jose sorts out their woeful defending and they are more clinical when they play Barca they could conceivably win. However they'll probably finish behind again simply because despite being a Jose team, they don't defend/press as well off the ball as Barca and so will concede more goals, and are therefore more likely to drop points.

I think it's the popular consensus floating around Spanish football at the moment owing to the sheer depth Real have in their squad. Coupled with them looking *much* better last time they played Barcelona.

Remember in the league they only have to play each other twice. And maybe Mourinhos found a way of beating them that involves keeping all 11 players on the pitch and not being an absolute ****.

Judging them on the two games vs Barca so far, i would have to say the tactic still involves being overly aggressive.

Great goal from Kaka there. This Real Madrid squad will contend with Barcelona this season, in all competitions.

Impressed with the overal fitness of the side aswell.

Teams are pretty much damned if they do/don't against the big two. They either park the bus and try and keep the score down as much as they can or go gung-ho at the risk of getting slaughtered. Either way, once it gets to 3-0 or so, heads drop and they usually get routed further anyway. I think the other 18 teams in La Liga just go into these games expecting to get hammered and concentrate their energy on the other 34 games they'll play.
