Spanish Grand Prix 2012, Catalunya - Race 5/20

Hamilton was within a tenth of the fastest lap around here, which was done by Kimi in 2008.

This rubbish of stopping the car on the "in" lap is getting ridiculous, all drivers should be forced to return to the pits or face a penalty...

That would be the easiest solution really, however you may get some that fuel them short and stop out on track as they 'have an issue' like Mclaren did today, even though he was miles ahead.

Would I be correct in assuming that if Hamilton "understeered" into the gravel pit and said he lost the front end, he would received no penalty today?

Depends at what point? As he obviously had to get the lap in but if he binned it after on the slow down lap then I would expect the same outcome?

That was a very entertaining race throughout, however I have to agree with some of the others that the tyres being quite so random is making it a little odd now.

Some videos of the fire (sorry if posted earlier, I didnt get in till late and didnt see it myself earlier).

I bet this weekend has put a real downer on button. Being out qualified by so much and being beaten by Lewis who started last.

He tried Lewis's brake pads remember this weekend, he wasn't exactly going to do well with them right away. I wonder if he will stick with them, if they helped with the tyres, or go back to what he is used to.
