Spanish Grand Prix 2016, Catalunya - Race 5/21

Raikkonen and Hamilton incident will be investigated after the race.

Sorry? Did I miss something?

*edit*

There we go.... Rosberg and Hamilton will be investigated after the race. :D

I agree with Brundle you are allowed 1 move to cover your line, just it was unexpected the speed difference Hamilton had which caught Rosberg out.

And the Hamilton haters are out to gloat.

I don't hate him at all, but all the people dying for Rosberg and saying Hamilton was over taking well Rosberg was defending his position.

F1 is crap now and this highlights why, drivers can't defend their position without tears from fans. Back in the day that was racing.

Lewis, you idiot!

He's got to learn not to destroy his race in a desperate attempt to get it back to soon. How many times had he done that now?

Got to be rosberg's fault surely

It's difficult because even though Hamilton was could have in theory stayed on the track behind Rosberg anywhere else. But this was just as the braking zone start with both hard on the brakes.

I don't think it was 50/50 though I think Rosberg has to take more of the blame. Had Hamilton not driving off the track then Rosberg would have taken Hamilton's nose off or touched wheels.

There's a difference between defending and shoving cars off the track onto the grass. If there was a kerb there or some of the grasscrete wouldn't have been so bad.

Rosberg had nothing to lose, he's not the one 40 points behind in the wdc, I have no idea why he threw himself in the way like that.

I'm a true Hamilton fan, but I don't think Rosberg was at fault there, Hamilton was going for a non-existent gap.

Agree

But it's Hamilton so most here expect people to jump out the way for him.

Funny that in real driving it's the rear cars fault for accidents no matter what but in this case people blaming Rosberg who has every right to make one move to defend his position.

Hamilton should have gone outside there was never enough space inside so for me 80% Hamiltons fault.

For clarity, from the 2016 Sporting Regulations:

27.7 Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full
width of the track during his first move, provided no significant portion of the car attempting
to pass is alongside his. Whilst defending in this way the driver may not leave the track
without justifiable reason.
For the avoidance of doubt, if any part of the front wing of the car attempting to pass is
alongside the rear wheel of the car in front this will be deemed to be a ‘significant portion’.

Rosbergs fault. Slam dunk.
