Spanning and JBOD ?

Hi,

Thinkingof getting the Icy Box IB-NAS4220-B with 2 * 1Tb HDD.

Think for me mirroring is overkill as it's just media files really. So with regards to spanning and JBOD if I lost one HDD in both situations would i loose everything ?

Assuming spanning = 2 Tb usable

JBOD = I'll get 2 * 1tB usable ?

You only lose what's on the disk that goes, the only difference is that the OS is presented with one or two drives. You can span within Windows using dynamic disks as well.
