I don't know what "into the mid thousands" is supposed to mean but I imagine it would buy you a Les Paul, dreams of stardom and groupies and then a harsh reality check before having to sell it to pay for your now escalating drug and alcohol habit

Actually I remember now what I would have done if I didn't need a few thousand for a few years. Invest it in Funding Circle, you (should) get about a 5% return on the investment but it has to be locked in for 1-3 years.
