Sparky-F1

Do we have evidence of him actually working for RBR, as this forum has a reputation for people living out fantasy lives.

That whole "ban me, ban me" thing was pretty damn embarrassing.

I think he does work for them. I didn't really see what happened but I think it's a loss for this place - he provided a unique insight into the industry.

You can't really blame him for going on the defensive over a team he works for and is obviously proud of.

To be honest if I worked for one of the major teams I don't think I'd read the F1 threads on here. So many people with irrational anti-driver viewpoints, very little positivity.

Nice guy, just people's attitude toward Vettel got to him. Can't blame him for taking it personally really.

Probably best he had 6 months away. From what he told me he's hard at work on RB9 :)

Wishing DNFs upon someone for nothing more than "the finger", or whatever is pretty irrational. The same guy winning may well be boring television, but artificial constraints or manufactured accidents aren't the answer. It's a sport not a game you can bend to your will.

Vettel won, he was the best package. You can't seperate driver, team and car so it's academic who "deserved" it more. Clearly RBR & Vettel did in 2012 as the results speak for themselves. It is up to the opposition to pull their socks up for 2013, simple as that.

As Ron would put it.

The juvinile entertainment appliances vacated the infant mobility device by the means of the progeny applying a inclined force targetted over the boundry of said infant mobility device.

*I'm very bored :D*

It wasn't just the finger though was it, it basically was anything said against Vettel and even somethings Pro Alonso. The comments though about forced accidents/ DNF due to the finger etc should never of been taken seriously.

I agree with your second point to some degree, Vettel+RBR was a better package than Alonso+Ferrari that isn't in dispute as he/they won the WDC and WCC. It is always going to be the speculation though of how much is driver and how much is the car. People saying their opinion on this and that they thing Alonso is a better driver etc shouldn't come with fear of someone shouting you down (though usually does in F1 threads lol)

Shame to see him gone though, as said above I did like his insight into F1 and some of things he said was interesting and not something I think you would find out anywhere else.

I think the Brazil thread was just the straw that broke the camels back. This forum has in general been far from pro RBR/Vettel for a while.

It would be one thing for it to not be pro-RBR. But to be so vehemently anti-RBR and Vettel, which seems to be the way it's gone, finally snapped his sense of humour in two I guess.
