I am just watching season 1, is it worth watching gods of the arena before moving onto season 2?
Can't believe this, was just curious to see viewing figures, and it seems over the now three series, the figures started at just under a million US viewers at the start of season 1, to around 1.2 million now. Thought it would be much higher, especially considering dross like Terra Nova had 7 million odd!
Yes otherwise you'll be wondering who the hell one of the characters is.
Terra Nova is a Fox show, this is on a cable channel so the figures are always lower.

YES. Gods of the Arena is amazing, IMO better than Blood and Sand. The fighting is less bloody and less fantastical, but more badass. You'll see what I mean in the first episode. Gannicus' fighting style is ridiculously cool
stopped watching this, i just cant get into it.
i thought the lead guy in season 1 started a bit weak but grow stronger and stronger and by the end of season 1 he was amazing, it was going to be a hard act to follow for anyone, but this new guy just doesnt seem right for the role, his voice and build just come across as very wrong for the role.

Gannicus is so much cooler than Spartacus
Spartacus is Mr Serious, fighting for honour, freedom and all that is good.
Gannicus fights for wine, whores and brotherhood. Clearly he's on the right path

This series seems to have gotten better since he showed up.Gannicus could probably take Spartacus anyway

I'm loving this season so far, but I also miss the arena fights from the previous ones, as well as Batiatus. Seeing Gannicus pwning nubs in the arena was awesome.
