Spartacus Vengence

I record it and watch it on playback about half an hour after it starts so I can skip them. Until I've finished watching it, I wouldn't dream of coming in here because I would fully expect people to be talking about it.

You seem to be labouring under the false assumption that I care what a n00b thinks. When you have more than 10 years on this forum then come back to me. Until then STFU.

OK then, I will come back to you as I have circa 15 years on these boards:

NO discussion of movies or tv shows that haven't been released in the UK, if it hasn't been shown in a UK cinema or on a UK tv station, no discussion is allowed.

Edit: to be clear (and I feel as if I am labouring an obvious point), no one is bothered about people posting about an episode which finished airing on a UK TV CHANNEL 5 seconds before you posted but to come in and see people posting things 2-3 DAYS before it is aired in the UK? Come on....

Well...i kept away from this thread even though i kept getting emails reporting new posts. I didn't want it to be spoiled for me. It wasn't hard to wait tbh.
Watched the final ep last night.
Absolutely brilliant!!!! I honestly don't think it could have been made better.
My heart actually races during the fight scenes as i'm usually nervous about who of the decent characters may or may not die.
I'm on board with the new guy now, still needs a better physique, but he aint bad in the role.

edit: LOOLLL......i accidentally transposed the 'ol' in Absolutely, and it starred it out, lol.. Go OCUK! :)

Amazing final episode. Loved where the story went. I do wonder if they may have purged a few too many of the cast, particularly on the evil side. Especially as this season didn't really introduce any new characters that were still breathing at the end of it.

I guess they had to kill everyone that knew what Spartacus looked like else the "I am Spartacus" scene wouldn't work the same if some random Roman piped up "no you ain't, that's that Spartacus geezer over there"

Lol, good point, well made. :)

So, wonder if they have the bit like in the Kirk Douglas film where Spartacus and Antoninus square off in a duel to the death. They fight cos each one doesn't want the other to be crucified.

So far the story has some historical merit. Spartacus 'annoyed' a number of Romans over several years with greater and greater numbers. In the end it is believed he died in battle and not on a cross. Some 6000 of his followers however are believed to have been crucified along one particular road in the end.

There is so much that can be made of the story following the Mt Vesuvius battle. With several more Romans 'having a go' at him.

Andi.

Looking forward to seeing a lad from Home and Away taking on the role of Julius Caesar. He was pretty good in H&A actually. Wonder how close to the real story they're going to stick to next series?

The historical accounts state that the fate of Spartacus was unknown. No body or trace of him was ever found.

I'd like to think that the series will end with him somehow escaping. Perhaps they could do a Billy the Kid style ending (or beginning) with him as an old man telling the Spartacus story to his children back in Thrace. lol.

I reckon they can certainly do 2 more seasons of 10 episodes each - and even that will be a rush.

Interesting, four days ago when I searched Wikipedia I got this -

Spartacus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
