I just got and installed my Geil PC6400 800mhz (ultra low latency) ram.

There is a little leaflet that comes with it saying this.

SPD
For optimized compatibility purpose, Geil uses SPD Safe-Mode Technology. The rated SPD and the default pre-programmed SPD might be different. Please refer to your mother board manufacture's owners manual for DRAM Adjustment and settings.

Im not sure whatto do ive looked through the manual but cant pick anything out that refers to this. My mother board is the GA-965P-Ds3

Any help would be appreicaited.

Seems obvious to me.. It's basically saying that the Auto features are the "safest settings" not necessarily the "optimal"

Set the DRAM settings in the BIOS to AUTO for now.

These default to 1.8v for 4.4.4.12 @ 533MHz and 5.5.5.18 @ 800Mhz which will be fine.

If you intend to overclock then change the settings to Manual and apply the same settings. You may have to up the voltage to 2.10 if you are running 4.4.4.18 @ 800Mhz.

Under Bios the setting will be under under a sub menu called either memory or memory clocks under advanced settings.

Which motherboard are you using?

When you first get into the BIOS, press CTRL+F1, that gives you the advanced settings in the (Damn, cant remember the name of the menu) menu. From there you can change the values.
