Just got more testing done on the Corsair.Yes I was not one of many on the forums to not know the bass has separate volume on remote.
I can see the point in putting existing speakers to use but you spent £162 on top of that.
Speakers were accepted as not right as I got refunded.
I'll take back what I said about the sub is no good at under the desk. It would seem that my initial impression of that was because I haven't adjusted the sub level and setting up profile on the remote, which caused the poor performance.
The bass for my Corsair is definitely fine...in fact is more powerful than I initial thought it was since I got more time to test it today, so I'm guessing that you unfortunately must must have received a faulty unit (especially if it's been accepted as not right).
As for me spending the £161, it was more like an upgrade (like upgrading graphic card) and trying different things rather than gotten all my speakers in one go. I initial had just the Creative T40 II (which I use for around 2~ years now), then I gotten the Edifier 1600T Plus, which was better than the Creative by quite a bit with better audio quality, but it was clearly coming short in terms of bass.
The reason I got the Corsair was because I was thinking on using a splitter cable to use the Edifier for music, and the Corsair for gaming and movies, but after a bit of playing around, I found the 5.1 setup and the best of both worlds, so I don't really need to use splitter cable now. So year...setting the speakers up as 5.1 was not my original plan, but there you go
