Speaker upgrade £5-600

I'm looking to replace my 5.1 mordaunt short genie speaker. Any recommendation cheaper the better, I already got cables so it will be a direct swap. Budget around £5-600 max. I'm thinking of getting these heard good things about them.

£500 is going to be right at the bottom end of the 5.1 market

Given you've already got a good set of 5.1 mourdaunt shorts, your not going to get much of an "upgrade"

you'd be better off saving some more to see more of a benefit imo.

I like my set up, only thing is my sub died a few days ago. Could you recommend me a sub that would go with my ms speakers instead?

As already said your current setup is at the very least on par with the Q Acoustics 1000i setup. A small upgrade would be to go for the Q Acoustics 2000 set up but not worth £500 if you ask me.

What I would do if I were you is upgrade each part in turn. So upgrade the subwoofer, upgrade the rears and upgrade the centre and fronts together as it's important these three speakers all match each other. Obviously this would give the most noticeable improvement and cost the most so do this first, then the sub woofer and then the rears last.

What amp are you using?

Sorry didn't see this before my reply. For a sub you really can't go wrong with a BK Gemini II for the money

Is second hand an option? I got £1500 worth of speakers for £600 not too long ago. Kef IQ5SE,IQ1,IQ60C and an svs sb12+ sub.

If you can stretch to £699 then do an ebay search for VIBE Monolith Classic Home Cinema 5.1 Speaker System (with floor standers) or the VIBE Monolith Slick Home Cinema 7.1 Speaker System with satalites for £599!

Doubt you will beat that system for the price range, I searched and listened to many and this was by far the best for the budget. (best looking as well).
