So, the stock speakers in the tin can make an annoying vibration/buzzing noise at anything slightly over medium volume.

Been thinking of treating myself this Christmas and buying a new set of 4. Nothing special, just something with fairly decent sound without an amp.

The 2 in the front are 13cm and 10cm in the back. I might get away with just replacing the front ones as those in the back don't seem to be doing the same.

Any suggestions on which brand to go with or a particular package? Anything I need to know when shopping for speakers?

Thanks.

In my brief expierence of speakers JBL seem to be cheap and of reasonable quality. However, I am more likely of the same qualifications as Halford employee's so my suggestion's on speakers should be discounted as rubbish. Happy hunting.

What sort of money you looking to spend?

Up to £100 for front and back.

I'm not talking qualifications, but how much those in my local branch actually know about cars or what they're selling.

I wasn't being funny just saying that I am of the same bread as your local Halfords. Clueless really.

So I shall stop putting my oar in.

Those two should do well for the budget. Could probably spend less on whichever of those go in the back of the car though due to not needing as high a sound quality

Ooh, nice. Cheers. :)

That brand was suggested to me by a few on SaxP actually.

You work in my local Halfords?

Remove and forget the rear speakers completely, rears are a waste of time.
Focus on getting a decent set of comps for the front, you won't notice much difference unless you were to get an amp though.

Disagree. If the HU is decent gains will be significant.

Why are rear speakers a waste of time? It's a personal preference thing, I much prefer the presence of rearfill.

Ant
