Spec ~£300

Comedian 'eh?

Yes I do indeed read these forums, and that psu like I say is way over the top for this particular build, I don't think the ops parents are likely to be putting a GTX 260 in it anytime soon

As for the memory fair enough it's only 3 quid difference, but this is supposed to be a budget build and the 800Mhz stuff is more than enough therefore a further 3 pound saving. ;)

aye you having a laugh.?

Way over the top power supply at 450 watts.? LOL
GTX260 running on 450watts.? LOL

its in budget so why not.? will always be a sound investment incase a future upgrade comes calling, you never know, wouldnt want to go out and buy another psu for another upgrade.

go read up about stuff before posting,

:p

Here was my suggestion in case you missed it.

450 watts is way overpowered when you consider the end users needs. There will be no seperate video card to power therefore a reasonable 300 watt model would be more than enough.

To be fair the op would probably be better off getting a ready built system such as this, as the savings on building his own would be minimal, given the small budget that he has.

this is to petty, just let rjtaylor decide :)

this is to petty

Yes very petty, I was purely trying to save the op some money, so please leave the juvenile GTFOFTWROFL comments out, it only serves one purpose and that's to make you look the fool and a little bit childish.

You seem to think it's some sort of race to get a spec up before anyone else, and in your quest to become "OCUK super specmaster" you often fail quite dismally by not taking into consideration the real needs of the person requesting the spec.

By the way the corsair HX450 watt psu you keep banding about in this thread would just about be adequate to run a GTX260 and a modest dual core system. By all accounts it's comparable to a reasonable 550-600 watt psu.

I suggest YOU read up about amperes, 12 volt rails and actual power draw before coming out with such drivel
