Spec a noob a monitor

So i'm looking for a new monitor, i have an illyama 24 inch at the minute thinking about buying the ROG dominator but not sure if ill be wasting my money or not.

Just got a new PC and dont think im making the most of it but at the same time don't know if its worth blowing all that money if there is going to be little to no difference.

I play games like arma3, skyrim, GTAV, witcher 3 etc etc my syster has latest i7 currently not overlocked that messed up, gtx970 and 16gb ram.

So if someone could list some monitors free sync/g sync around £300-£500 and the benefits etc i would greatly appreciate it.

Like mentioned totally brain dead when it comes to monitors.

The Dominator monitor is fressync and for that you need AMD gfx, you want Gsync such as the Swift or Acer predator or AOC 24" gsync.

Ah i was under the impression freesync worked with all cards, any overall opinion over swift, aoc and the predator?

Edit: will i see good performance with my 970?
