A friend as asked me to make him a pc for around £300, just the tower.
Pc will be used for normal day to day computing, and a little light gaming (he as a PS3).

He as given me the cash £300 and i would like to order to night for thursday post.

Plz dont spec and systems over £300 as the line stops at £300, He's the type of person that will not go to £310 even if it's a lot better.

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: He as an OS.
Edit again :) he would like intel but will be amd if it going to be a better system for the cash

stulid would your bundel support the Phenom X4 840 i like the USB3/sata3, but he would not use the the black edtion cpu the 840 as the same clock speed but use's less power

I dont know about the cpu support, have to check the list,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/870A-G54.html#?div=CPUSupport - it is listed.

The thing with the 840 Phenom is its actually a Athlon core, it lacks L3 cache of real Phenoms.

The other thing to consider is using a Tri core cpu.

The motherboard can unlock cpu cores - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3645#ov

Core Boost Support
GIGABYTE’s Core Boost technology provides an easy way for users unlocking the CPU’s hidden cores via the EasyTune6 utility. Without any complicated setting needed in BIOS, users can experience a phenomenal performance upgrade right away.
*The ability of unlocking the hidden CPU cores might vary by different processors.

no need for a tri core, i asked about the 840 because there was no point him paying +£10 for the black edition when he would never OC it.

i3 is more expensive, you'd have to drop the graphics card from my AMD spec if you want i3. If he wants to do gaming then a graphics card is a must, internal graphics aren't up to a lot really.
