Hi,
My fiesta is on its deathbed and isn't worth getting fixed (Clutch, gearbox, suspension, very leaky engine and exhaust needs replacing.) so i have decided i am going to scrap my fiesta and get a different car.

Requirements:
  • Cheep to insure
  • Cost 3k or below
  • From a dealer
  • NOT a corsa (I do not like them)

I am currently mid term in my insurance and i have only been driving since may so i am still looking at small engined cars.

So fart i have had my eye on:

I'd go with the same motor then strip all the worthwhile parts of the old one & store them for some cheap future motoring. Good way to learn as well seeings as you are new to driving.
4 wheels & tyres, Battery, starter motor, alternator, shocks, discs, leads, just about anything you have the room for really.

Why from a dealer? Nothing any dealer selling sub £3k cars can offer you is worth the paper its written on. Buy privately.

I’d swerve any £3,000 Fiat.

Personally, I’d be looking at another Fiesta (low running costs) or a Skoda Fabia (dirt cheap to insure).

Sadly i do not have the room for any car parts. It would be good way to learn.

Only reason why i am getting it from a dealer is because i will be getting the car on credit with me needing a car to get to and from work.
By dealer i actually mean used car sales people such as:

Not the big names like carcraft ect.

I've had quotes on a focus, mondeo and anything with a bigger engine and they are silly prices :/

At the moment it will only increase my insureance premium by £332.05 for an active sport grande punto. (INC admin fee and price for a new black box.)

Credit for a £3k car? This is sounding a bit like a recipe for disaster. Credit on a sub £3k car from a dealer is going to be a really bad deal.

How big is your deposit? A £3k car isn't so much better than a £2k car that its worth taking out car credit from a backstreet garage selling cheapo cars.

im not getting finance from a dealer i am going to be getting it on a credit card 0% interest.
Just going to pay it off in large chunks every month 6 months max.

Yes i do have a credit card (I have had it for a while). I spoke to the bank and they will up the limit for a car purchase. Realistically i will be paying 1500 on card and 1500 that i have saved up.
