Hi all,

After waiting patiently for 6 months I'm thinking I may as well get an SSD as a boot drive for my Win 7 desktop - 60-64GB in size. I was looking at the Crucial drives but now it seems the new Vertex drives with the Sandforce controllers are better. But are they really worth it? I have no idea. I don't have money to burn but if it's a case of spending £10-20 more then that's fine.

Thanks!

The c300's are better but no 64gb capacity version, COmputex showed a similar to C300 drive with slightly higher performance and they were also planning a 64gb capacity so that could be out very very soon, I think it was patriot but I've forgotten who it was from.

Sandforces are good but not that great, I'd be checking around to see when a 64GB C300 type drive was out(marvel controller drive basically). If not I'd check the price between a 60GB OCZ/sandforce drive and a 80gb Intel, you'd be very hard pressed to notice the difference between them in most situations and the 80GB intel does offer pretty superb value for money these days compared to the other two.
