So my pc finally struggled with a h.264 decode a few days ago and the budget lenovo n200 i got trounced it. Time for an upgrade.

I'm using XP, I'm not planning to overclock and I've got a Zalman CNPS7700-ALCU Super Flower from an old build that i can use as the cpu cooler. Other than that this is what i had planned:




any reccomendations?


EDIT: It will be used as a HTPC/Gaming box onto a VP930 @ 1280x1024

All looks fine, I can't see any obvious ways to improve other than possibly a motherboard more suited for overclocking and you have said you don't particularly need that. Have you checked that your CPU cooler has sufficient capabilities for the CPU e.g. thermal capacity? :)
