Well, this is the first time I've ever put a rig together and I want to have your thoughts on it, my budget is, I think, £980 I won't be over clocking but will be gaming, a lot, is the following ALL I need? I don't need an OS (got a spare xp sitting here :p) or keyboard and mouse.

Cheers :p

Can't fault that, looks a great setup. You might wanna cut back to 500-550W though and save a bit of cash. 600W+ even with a significant overclock isn't really needed for that setup.

i'd look at swapping the motherboard for either the asus p5n-e (if you want sli), or the gigabyte ds3p.

everything else looks fine, maybe have a look at some of the other cases around, unless you're happy with the P182, akasa 62 or one of the Lian Li's.

as per mishima maybe change the 620 to the 520 version.

Changed to the akasa 62 and the asus p5n-e, thanks to you both for the insanely quick reply, saved me a few quid too.

Nope I won't be overclocking, don't know how to, and don't want to risk wrecking anything. :p

Although, if I do need some extra cooling, what would you recommend? I'd prefer something quiet, but after you've lived with an xbox 360 for 6 months noise doesn't really matter that much. :D

if you want proper quiet grab a Tuniq Tower. Generally though anything large with low fan speeds will be decently quiet with adequate cooling seeing as you're not overclocking. Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 is about £16 (pricecheck £14.99 (£17.61inc VAT)) or the Noctua NH-U12F (£30.99 (£36.41inc VAT))are both good coolers. You might not even need to go that severe.

Agreed - Get the Tuniq. Bit confused as to why you're spending £150 on a case, as pretty as it is, I don't think it's a clever buy.

Also why the Fatality board? Seems an odd choice really

I recently built using the same PSU, RAM, GPU & Chipset and would definiately recommend them. I also went with a Tuniq Tower as a cooler - fairly easy to fit, and keeps everything nice and cool at the lowest (and quietest) fan speed.

I certainly wouldn't say it was easy to fit.....Although, the effort more than makes up for the quality of the product

If you have no plans to overclock (even though its very easy and gives you x10 better desktop/gaming performance) then I would get a 450-480W PSU. More than enough power there, 620W would be a total overkill and waste of money.

Well all the parts came yesterday and I spent a few hours putting it together, I was able to push it and get the 8800gtx instead of the gts, and I got the asus p5n-e mobo, anyway, I have a problem, probably because It's my first time putting something together but yeah, it powers up and everything but nothing shows on screen, anyone got any ideas? I also took my 7800gtx from my old alienware and shoved it in to see if it was a faulty graphics card, but it wasn't.

Specs are as follows just to make sure:
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC 768MB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Akasa Eclipse 62 Aluminium Case
Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2
GeIL 2GB PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz
Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x18 DVD±RW
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650

power connectors plugged into the gfc card ok ?

try disconnecting everything apart from 1 stick of memory, boot hard disk, processor and gfx card.

think the mobo is sli so try both slots, and try the memory in different memory slots.

also, try booting with no memory in the machine.

I'll try that, if it works, what do I do after that so I can use the other stuff?

Edit: tried, didn't work, I rang my dad so he's going to come round, hes built more computers than hes had hot dinners. :p
