Thanks for your input.

What resolution do you intend to play at? Also, what's your max budget? :)

I'd recommend trying to find an extra 60 quid or so and buy a better graphics card, such as a GTX 460.

if all ur doing is gaming, then u can save money by getting an i5 instead of the i7

then dropping down to 4gb ram.

for a gaming spec, its always best to get the best GPU u can fit in the budget, then get the rest of the system around that.

no point getting the best cpu if ur budget wont stretch for a decent gpu to go with it.

an i5 with a GTX460 would be by far better for gaming

i do watch some hd films but my laptop cant really handle it at the mo thats why i chose the 1080 screen.

also i was looking for a bit of future proofing so when more cash is available i cant get some good things and i could probably stretch to 1200

Right, assuming you have the £1200 budget, you want to watch BluRay films, and don't need a copy of Windows...

You could save yourself some money with a cheaper PSU (such as the one in your original build). I'd always go for a solid, well known one, however.

You can also pick up i7 920's from various places, which are about £30-40 cheaper than the 930's, which is another viable option :)

Edit: I forgot a cooler :)
