hey all, I travel by train to lan events so I am after a light weight pc to play starcraft 2.

I am buying some parts and borrowing some from my bro
the ones I am sorted for is
8gig ram, i5 3rd gen and the motherboard is
Gigabyte H61N-USB3 Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard
I will also be using his ati hd6650

now the parts I am buying is
Lian Li PC-TU200B Mini-ITX Cube - Black (because of the handle)

going buy a 60gig ssd
Intel 330 Series 60GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail
since its on offer.

was unsure of the power supply for a small rig was maybe looking at
Akasa Venom 550w Modular '80 Plus' Power Supply or Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK)

but I am open to ideas.
the whole idea is to be as lightweight as possible because of travel

thanks for any advice
pete

Big problem mate, that motherboard is mATX (24cm x 24cm) and the case is an ITX case (17cm x 17cm)..

You need a bigger case, or a smaller motherboard..

The Z77M-D3H is mATX it's NOT mini-itx so will not fit in that Lian Li case I'm afraid. That case is limited to 140mm long PSUs too which you need to be aware of.

I think the smallest mATX case would be the Temjin (unless someone else has a better suggestion).......

YOUR BASKET
1 x Toshiba SSD HG5D Series 7mm 128GB Solid State Hard Drive - (THNSNH128GCST) £89.99
1 x Silverstone TemJin TJ08B-E Midi Tower Case - Black (SST-TJ08B-E USB 3.0) £83.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £54.98
Total : £242.46 (includes shipping : £11.25).

Although in truth the Z77M-D3H isn't great for i5Ks as it's voltage locked. Maybe you'd rather sell it on and get a mini-itx mobo instead?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £103.99
1 x Toshiba SSD HG5D Series 7mm 128GB Solid State Hard Drive - (THNSNH128GCST) £89.99
1 x BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Midnight Black £69.95
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £54.98
Total : £332.41 (includes shipping : £11.25).

This mini-itx is also voltage locked but does inc wifi as a FYI. You could consider THIS cheaper case aswell perhaps?

Ahh, the OP magically changed to include the H61N ITX board instead of the Z77 D3H.

Magic.....

Well that's wasted my time (Grrrrr)

The Corsair CX500M is 5.5inches long I do believe which is just under 140mm so will fit the Lian Li. I'd want a better SSD but other than that he seems set

just checked size of powersupply and its
•Standard ATX PS/2 size: 5.9"(W) x 3.4"(H) X 5.5"(L); 150mm(W) x 86mm(H) x 140mm(L)
so ya it fits just about.
you think that's fine?

Yes, that PSU will fit and be perfect.

What case tales your fancy? The prodigy is bigger but prettier, though my personal choice is the cm120 elite.

I am going for Lian Li PC-TU200B Mini-ITX Cube - Black because it has a handle built on it so while traveling that makes more sense
