Cheers Olivier.

I went for that card for the 2GB RAM as it was my understanding that I would feel the pinch running a 1GB card. What would you suggest? 2GB 6950?

I'll have a re-think on the RAM.

I had a 560 TF II 1GB, and it's a very good card. 880mhz factory overclocked, 65C unigine, whisper quiet idle, not so on games but I don't think any modern card can do that (6950 TOXIC about as noisy).

THere is still some debate about the benefit of 2GB. Personally, I would grab a 6950 2GB. 560ti and 6950 are roughly equivalent.

I have some crossfire problem (CF doesn't work) in skyrim, but no problems in BF3. Good scaling and very good framerates.

I would consider a 560ti 2GB if I planned on SLI, and over 1080p. I would pick the 6950 TFIII 2GB.

It also depends if your software works better with NVIDIA or AMD cards. Both closely matched in terms of performance. Don't know what difference there is between TFII and TFIII cards.

Ordered!

Changed the card to the MSI TFIII 2GB 6950, kept the Vengence RAM but swapped the cooler to an H80. Don't plan to SLI so kept he PSU as is.

Thanks for the input all!

..oh and I went for a Fractal Design R3 case (bought from elsewhere as no stock here :()

Have a look at my rig, that Fractal case is win :)

Also, the corsair 850 is fine for SLI providing you don't overclock.

think you mean 650w, as the 850w is more than enough for 560ti/6950 sli/xfire with overclocking(think its even fine for overclocked 570s, 580 would be the one where you would want to be careful of the overclock).

but as said the 650w should be fine for adding a 2nd 6950 in the future as long as you don't heavily overclock the cards.

you could have saved some money and gone for the antec kuhler 920 which is £65, think its similar performance to the h80.
