A little update on my earlier post..... i have decided to buy today!!!! wooot :D

Im going to buy now and drive to stoke.

Can you please advise if there is anything that should be changed.

Im going for gaming / overclocking and a raid setup for running Virtual machines and games from.

1 sys drive
2 x drives in RAID O
1 storage drive

I plan to upgrade CPU to a quad core AM3 sometime.

Any help appreciated!

Ooops...forgot to ask if my 500w PSU would run it all

Do you already have a copy of windows?
What case are you using?
For similar amount of money you could get a I7 system or are you happy staying with AMD

I do have a copy of windows. Im using a Lian Li v1000b plus.

I could go i7 but it would be a bit more expensive without the 4 hard drives...i think it would end up being 1500 with the extra hard drives.

And i have not seen many stats that suggest a vast improvement in games.

Happy birthday! then nerd way :D

Whats with all the hard drives? The spec looks good though, im really interested in the AM3 performance with ddr3

Ooh juicee setup - post ya pix when the goodies are on the table!
Oh and happy birthday chief!
The best prezzies always the one you choose ya self!!

i think i may of got a wee bit of a silly fan.... im going to see if my old SKT 939 Big Typhoon will do and maybe return the Noctura.

Picture shows the relative sizes of Noctura NH-U12P, Thermal Take Big Typhoon, Stock AMD fan

Im really suspecting the Noctura is total overkill. Its pretty and i have to say i actually like the brown coloured fans....
