spec check please

After using my trusty xp2700 & Geforce 5600xt for 3 years, the time has come to upgrade.

It will be used for playing games new and old, playing music/video and internet surfing in general with the odd bit of home photography thrown in. Possibly also a 24/7 machine recording from my security cams.
I would like it to last a few years and it will be my first attempt at clocking.
In a few months I will be moving up to a 24inch flat screen and will have a large external HD for backing up.

What do you think of this spec?

I think with the size monitor you are going to be using it would be advantageous to either wait for the 320MB Geforce 8800's to come along in about a week or two or, purchase a 8800 GTS. It's also going to last you a lot longer than the X1950 Pro.

Other than that, very nice selections - motherboard, RAM, CPU are great choices for clocking and performance

apart from the small fact he already bought it :/

no worries, a mate has a 7800gt doing a 26" HDTV, so your card wont have a problem doing a 24".
and the rest of your spec looks good aswell

Sorry missed that bit were it says "Already bought" ! Could always send it back if its within the 90 day period you bought it. There's nothing wrong sending something back if you simply didn't want it, could replace it with something else.

But thats entirely up to you.

in my opinion, its a good card, and is far cheaper than the 8800's, so i'd keep it...dx10 isnt everything yet :/
