Looks good to me also, I would change to a Samsung Spinpoint or a Seagate though for the hard disk.

Like this: Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM?

Any reason why - I admit to knowing nada about hard drives....

Thanks

Excellent, quiet & fast is what I'm looking for.

Anyone used the case before? It looks seriously good for the money.

Also, is it worth going for the gigabyte mobo over the Asus? I've heard good things about both. How about the OCUK memory instead of the OCZ?

So many questions.... :D

Thanks

Pics of the case would be great if it's not too much hassle, It's hard to see from the pics on ocuk.

The gigabyte board is "Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 £82" I think, a friend of mine has it with a 4300.

Is the Asus 650 and OCZ memory a good mixture then?

I will be overclocking (who wouldn't with a Core 2 Duo ;) ) but not massively as I don't want to fry anything.....

Thanks

Sweeeet, it's a nice looking case, thanks for posting the pics. Is it fairly quiet? I don't expect P180 noise levels considering the price, but hopefully it keeps it fairly low.

Might just stick with the Asus mobo as it gets good reviews on here and does what I need.

Thanks

Thanks for the help.

Had a rare moment of sense and ended up ordering the following:

Asus P5B Skt 775 Intel P965 Core2 Extreme / Core2 Duo
Intel CPU Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8GHz 800FSB LGA775 2MB cache
Geil Value DDR2 2.0GB PC6400 Dual Channel memory kit (2 x 1GB)
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)

Decided to save a bit of cash for now and to get the case and HD next month.

Can't wait to get hold of it - who thought up bank holidays?

Any links to easy overclocking guides for the stuff I've ordered would be really handy.... :)

Thanks

Price! I decided to limit what I was spending & save for a decent HD and case. It's not as good as the ocz stuff (I assume) but should still be okay for overclocking, shouldn't it? If not, there's still time to change the order!

I thought the e4300 / Asus / Geil was still pretty good, please tell me if I'm making a mistake....

Thanks again

I hope it's an improvement over the old system! Can't wait to get hold of it all...

I went for the e4300 as I was told it is easier to overclock and doesn't need such high spec memory, but will get much the same results.

Mind you, I haven't found an easy step-by-step guide on how to overclock the e4300 and asus board yet, so might just end up frying it!

Thanks

not sure because of the bank holiday, but should be midweek with a bit of luck. If I can transfer the bits across without having to re-install windows etc I'll hopefully have it up and running BF2 / Stalker by thursday

I'll probably leave it a few days, then get overclocking at the weekend - any ideas where there might be a simple guide on how to do it?

Thanks
