Would these bits work together? Any obvious ways to save a few quid as its over budget.... and will my psu survive?

Maybe I could save a bit by going for the ocuk ram and put that towards the processor instead.....

Looks good to me also, I would change to a Samsung Spinpoint or a Seagate though for the hard disk.

Yeah, thats the one something like that. The Spinpoints are top hard drives, they are very very quiet and fast also, not to mention very reliable. In the benchies I have seen they beat anything between Seagate and WD.

Excellent, quiet & fast is what I'm looking for.

Anyone used the case before? It looks seriously good for the money.

Also, is it worth going for the gigabyte mobo over the Asus? I've heard good things about both. How about the OCUK memory instead of the OCZ?

OCUK RAM is fine as long as you're not looking for major overclocks. If you are, I say stick with the OCZ and the 650 mobo.

Pics of the case would be great if it's not too much hassle, It's hard to see from the pics on ocuk.

The gigabyte board is "Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 £82" I think, a friend of mine has it with a 4300.

Is the Asus 650 and OCZ memory a good mixture then?

I will be overclocking (who wouldn't with a Core 2 Duo

) but not massively as I don't want to fry anything.....

If you're going to go for the DS3 you may as well go for the DS3P for a few extra quid. Its a revision of the DS3 removing all the incompatibilities and adding in a few extra features like quad core support, firewire support etc.

Sweeeet, it's a nice looking case, thanks for posting the pics. Is it fairly quiet? I don't expect P180 noise levels considering the price, but hopefully it keeps it fairly low.

Might just stick with the Asus mobo as it gets good reviews on here and does what I need.

Yeah its very quiet with the stock fans in there, the airflow is very good thats the best thing about the case. Obviously the quality isn't superb, at £29 though its a bargain and great budget case.

Price! I decided to limit what I was spending & save for a decent HD and case. It's not as good as the ocz stuff (I assume) but should still be okay for overclocking, shouldn't it? If not, there's still time to change the order!

I thought the e4300 / Asus / Geil was still pretty good, please tell me if I'm making a mistake....

you're original spec was pretty good just change the 4300 for the 6300.
