First post on these forums, so hey =)
Going to try and build a new computer this year and looking to see what you think and whether I need to change anything.

Im wondering whether the Thermalright 120 will fit in the case?
And whether I would need cables extenders for that PSU or a different PSU?

It looks pretty good in my estimation. You could save a bit by going with cheaper PC2-6400.

Yes, that cooler will fit in the case just fine. I haven't any experience with that PSU but it should fit. An extension cable might make routing the ATX wire bundle a little cleaner though.
 
gat a SATA DVD drive instead

get a cheaper 8800GT with a shorter warranty unless you really plan to use that card for 10 years

get a 120mm fan for the cpu cooler

consider the OCZ pc2-6400 R2 platium ram in This week only, the geil ULL may OC better though
 
you still need a 120mm fan for the thermalright CPU cooler, it maybe capable of being sufficiant at cooling the cpu without one, but i say get a fan to be safe

Thinking of getting a Zalman ZM-F3 120mm Silent Case Fan - 3 Pin.
Sorry for my stupidicty, but where would I put this fan? on the side panel?
 
The fan would be attached to the Ultra using clips.

You might also take a look at the Tuniq Tower. The cooler is slightly inferior in performance, but it comes with a fan and doesn't have the surface finish problems that plague the Thermalright. It certainly wouldn't hamper your overclock.
 
for the cpus, retail has a heatsink and fan that isnt that good, but does it job along with a longer warranty. OEM has a 1year warranty and no heatsink and fan. performance wise, tehy are idential in everyway except 1 chip may OC better then the other, but that is down to luck
