I had a spec check done last month but I had to put my purchase back by a few weeks. Some of the original components I was planning on getting aren't available from OCUK anymore so I've come up with the following.

Anyone see any problems, or room for improvement? The only thing not here is a graphics card, I'm a bit confused about which is best at the mo, so if someone could suggest a gfx card in the £150-200 bracket it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

why did you choose a 32 bit OS?

Oops, my mistake, that should have course be 64 bit Vista.

Noted on the cooler, went for the Tuniq as that was recommended when I asked on these forums last month. However, the Ultra-120 needs a fan so the price difference is only a couple of quid.

Thanks for the GFX recommendations. I was looking at the BFG 9800GTX as its on offer this week so will probably go with that.

The Tuniq is a very good cooler but that is a pretty hefty price jump considering it has been hovering around the £30 mark relatively often.

The Thermalright Ultra 120 is one of the best heatsinks available, the only issue (and it might well have been sorted now) is that they sometimes needed lapping due to a concave finish on the base.

The Noctua NH-U12P is also worth considering, I'd opt for the cheapest option of the three and I don't think you can really lose.

The standard version still is ~£30, but that's out of stock with no ETA, so the one on his list is the one with LEDs ;)

the guaranteed 3.0GHz q6600 is £135 :o

get that and a Noctua NH-U12P

Hadn't spotted that CPU on offer. Cheers, now changed to that CPU and the Noctua.

One more question, will the 500w PSU in the Antec be enough for all of this kit, bearing in mind I'm going for the 9800GTX, a TV card and three hard drives?

Yeah, I'm aware of the different versions but even the LED one wasn't that expensive until fairly recently.

The PSU will be fine, it is a good PSU from a good brand so I'd have no worries with it.
