That is a competitor. Forum rules state no links or mentioning of competitors so I would remove that asap.

If it is a budget build what will he be doing? Chances are he won't need 4 gig of RAM or a CPU like that. Save money by getting just 2 gig and a 2180 or something. Does he REALLY need 750 GB storage?

Should I just buy the one at **********
Depends: Do you mind & can provide him technical support in case of any problems?

Also, what is the intended use of PC? Can't help notice a 750GB HD

Have a look too at what OcUK have to offer (here).

Please do not quote competitors.

The PC is basically for Internet access and storing some photos.
The Mother-in-law won 10k at the bingo a few weeks ago and the father-in-law is getting a new computer out of it :D:D

I want a machine that will be lightening quick to boot and run Internet Explorer and Office. I have told him about £500 should get him a great machine. However I do not want to spend money just for the sake of it.

I am happy to build a machine, I have done it before, but just as happy to buy a pre built if it is only a few quid difference.

Why don't you get him a nice big monitor instead of a powerful cpu ?

I know i'd rather have the monitor if it's for photo storage and internet only!

(Ah just realised that there isn't much cash to spare in the budget )

Id streamline things a little more, odd choice of motherboard and it means you have to waste money on a graphics card.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.50GHz (800FSB)

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i Chipset (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P800R22GK)

HP dvd1070i 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter (Black) - Retail

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (ST3500320AS)

Antec NSK 4480B Mini Tower Case (Black) - 380W Earth Watts PSU

Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 - Retail (BV3-00007)

Asus VW202S 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black

Total : £428.72 inc shipping

For office tasks thats ample.
