ok so went to pay my landlord is rent today and his old sempron system has gone KAPUT he asked me to build him a new system and he'd cut me some slack on next months rent :) He only used it for word processing,printing, and viewing the odd photo i specced this but just want to double check

Should be fine if that's all he'll be doing. If he's watching movies etc I might spec in a 4350 or similar for the decoding..
 
why not swap the 2 F1's for 1 F3 500gb and save another 17 quid there too

EDIT : I know you personally are a sucker for retail boxes but is he? if not then an oem DVD drive will shave a couple more beer tokens off too

NO he wanted retail :confused:

also the second 250GB drive is as a primary back-up using win7 back-up allows him to just schedule an auto back-up he almost lost 6 years of work apparently so he bricked it i advised him the best method would be to used a second drive as back-up then once a month create a dvd back-up

His workload was only 1.2GB <<< of pure text documents LOL but he has a few pictures and stuff and he said he wanted it to last him at least 3-4 years i would have gone for 80gb HDD's but they were the same price as the 250's
