Thanks to 95thrifles guide and a little shove in the right direction I think I've decided on a spec.

This is going to be a gaming pc with scope to upgrade in the future.

Would you guys b-able to give it the once over see if I'm missing anything? (I have a gaming mouse)

Anything I can swap out for something cheaper but just as good?

the harddrive is a lower wattage,slower(5400rpm-7200rpm) general storage device.

if you want to install windows and your games onto it, then its slow.

a SAMSUNG F3, WESTERN DIGITAL BLACK or SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.12 are all performance models, just pick the cheapest of the three.

Cheers, Changed to

Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM. It's a bit cheaper.

Yes lacking a lot of space compared but I can add a second easy enough at later date. :)

Will work with that mobo but you won't be able to make use of sataIII (6gb/s) which that drive supports. So you'd need to change the mobo if you were wanting to make use of that and usb3. If you like matx then the 'gma' version of the same board has usb3 and sataIII, if willing to go atx then try something like the m4a87td evo.

If not bothered about sataIII (and usb3) then the samsung f3 1tb if your best bet

Ok, I've swapped out the mobo for the

Gigabyte GA-880GMA-UD2H AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 microATX Motherboard

I picked that HDD for the 6gb/s, So cheers for pointing that out mate :)

So you think I'm good to go?

Hey

Cool i would recommend it especially with that set up

Also i recommend a Retail box because the OEM will tie you to that motherboard so can limit upgrade path.

Hope it all goes well!
