Spec Check Please?

hahahaha :D

As for cards:
For research - bloody hell this is really hard to pin down.

660 GTX ti vs 660 GTX ti SC+ vs 660 GTX ti PE vs 7950 vs 7950 OC

Basically, this is what I understand from all the searching I've done:
It's all about your personal preference.

There are certain games that the 660 gtx ti does better in, and others the 7950.

The thing is this, at stock:
7950 has lower clocks, higher mem and bus
660 has higher clocks, lower mem and bus

660 is favoured atm for people who game, as it supports games much better. ie. BF3 is designed for nvidia.

Now for overall, long-run, it seems the 7950 is better because of it's high bus and mem size - this will allow it to stretch to high limits in the long run.
However it should be noted that both are OC'able - now I don't want to OC, but if you want to OC the GPU's the 7950, can out-perform it's bigger brother the 7970 (stock) - so for me, I'm leaning for the MSI AMD Radeon HD 7950 TWIN FROZR:

(I'll post this in the GFX section for help)

As I plan to OC the Graphics Card, that's why I went with the 7950 ;). Thats a good card but i'm really inclined to go for the Gigabite Windforce version (currently not stocked at OC).

What do you think?

I'd also like to add I asked about which card I should get (strange as I normally do the specs around here:D)

Anyways, I was basically told to either save money and get a GTX660 or go the whole hog and get the 670, the GTX660ti memory bus cripples it I was told.

I would continue it here :)
Created a thread for it.

I want something that will be run-able in 2-3years time, and have a good warranty basically.
I don't know which to go for in all honesty, and how international warranties work (as I might move out of the country in a few years too)

i think its good advice, i know im spoilt with my gfx card but from a making sense point of view
i think if i had to buy with my own money today id get a 660 as a stop gap until next year
but then sometimes im just cheap^^ and id put in an itx anyway so its a bit diff

I like the corsair psu's 7 year warranty, & great after sales service. Although in 7 years we'll probably be using solar powered pc's lol.

cat powered!

dodger i think if u can guess what res you like to play at and what settings, like all the trimmings or ever 3d then you can decide better what gpu you NEED rather than what is best value

As for graphics cards I'm a bit of an nvidea fanboy I must admit. But based on price/ performance I'd buy AMD at the minute. If your determined to go nvidia I'd personally not look at any other card than the gigabyte 670 windforce but that's personal preference, the AMD v nvidia debate needs no fuel added to it on these boards :p

out of interest is that the 2GB or 3GB version you are referring to?

EDIT:
I'm getting confused with AMD and Nvidia - my bad sorry.

No more fuel needed, i'm exhausted :p

ooo you made your decision :D?

AMD - 3gb

Nvidia - 2gb

2gb VRAM is plenty this day an age, your more likely to run out of Gfx power/ hit CPU limits before you get crippled by VRAM in 95% of situations these days

Gigabite :)

Regarding the games with the HIS version, once i'm hooked on BF3, I don't see myself having much time for playing any other game that I get for free :p

Nice choice man!
I might end up with the same.

so 2GB will be enough?
hmm
