I notice you have no case, any reason for this?

Do you have a budget? It seems like you have just picked the most expensive item from each catergory. That is not the way to build a great PC. PC's are very specific to certain needs, so if you tell us what your needs are we can help you get something to match..

Im shocked by the price of that RAM..
 
Ouch... I really would not buy that RAM, you could save enough to buy a Geforce Titan and hardly notice the difference with cheaper ram.

For cooling if you use tall RAM then the Thermalright Archon SB-E X2 is perfect as it will fit between the dimm slots either side of the CPU socket.

If you went the closed loop water cooler route a dual rad system such as a Corsair H100/Antec 1220 etc would be good as the CPU's do get hot when overclocked and you need the larger surface area to shift the heat.

Big Budget indeed.

Case wise i'd suggest looking at the 800D

Cheaper RAM and more of it would be better.

A titan would definately furutre proof you on the graphics side.

You can also save money on the motherboard.

The PSU is spot on.

Interested in custom watercooling? You can afford to.
 
Maybe something like this? Just showing you where you can save money, I included a case which would be fine, but it is really down to personal preference on looks etc.

I also included 2 x Crucial M4 SSD's which can be used in Raid 0, this would save you quite a bit over the OCZ drive and offer double the space. I doubt you would notice the difference in speed too.

As for cooling, do you intend to overclock at all?

My friend is building it for me as I have no experience or knowledge on building PCs.

I think he does intend on overclocking. Which watercooling parts would I need? Do I need a raid controller for the SSDs? Will it perform the same as one big, faster drive for opereting system and programs to be loaded onto?

Is this a good spec for what I am looking to do?
Is there any way I can make it faster?
Could anyone recommend a raid controller and some cooling parts?

Stulids spec is great, yes. How do you mean, make it faster? With 2 SataIII SSD's on RAID0 you will struggle to get quicker than that.

Unless you are adding more HDD's and wanting to use RAID5 (or similar) you won't need a raid controller. That motherboard can handle raid0 or raud1 easy.

The HAF X is a great cooling case, I doubt you need more fans.
