Hi there

I have a few upgrades to add to my rig in sig below.

I'm adding an i7-3770k running a moderate overclock around 4ghz, also a single MSI Geforce GTX 780 Gaming Edition gfx card. Ideally I would run sli but am unsure of cooling capacity of a triple rad, at a guess I would require additional dual rad possibly in the bottom with a little case mod.

I had a read through stickys and have came up with the following, but I'm a little unsure on the block for gfx card. Ideally I don't want to change my case I haven't had it long and my wife likes how it fits in..

Hopefully I didn't miss anything :)

YOUR BASKET
1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC Titan & 780 - Acetal Full Cover Waterblock £79.99
1 x XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump (Acrylic) V4 £59.98
1 x Hardware Labs Black ICE Radiator GT Stealth 360 £49.99
1 x XSPC RayStorm CPU WaterBlock (Intel) £44.99
3 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM - 3 Pin £17.99 (£53.97)
1 x Mayhems X1 UV Blue Premixed Watercooling Fluid 1L £7.99
2 x Primochill Primoflex Advanced Tubing 16/10 - White £5.99 (£11.98)
8 x XSPC G1/4" to 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD Compression Fitting (Black Chrome) £2.99 (£23.92)
Total : £342.38 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Your spec looks fine, though I'd personally go with a D5 bay/res combo instead of the 750. It would be almost double the price though...

If you wanted to go sli, then yeah, you really should be looking at adding a 240 rad in there :) Saying that, you may just about get away with a 360, but don't expect much, if any OC headroom or exceptional temps.

If you haven't already planned your layout, you might also find that you'll need a couple of angled fittings too.

I read your post, you give some useful information. I also visit your links which are nice. Thanks for sharing.....

U wot m8?

I think I need two to start with though I cant seem to find them?

I was looking at the V12 Expert kit which has D5 combo it works out slightly less cost after adding the water-block, although different tubing and fans.

Many thanks for the reply though my first time water cooling and I don't want to mess up ;)

I'd agree with Petey although I've had a bad experience with the D5/bay/res combo. The res warped in summer use and started leaking. OCUK were excellent though and replaced it. I use the new one in my second rig with no issues. For my main rig I use a EK D5 Vario X-res 140 and it is superb.

Your GPU waterblock is fine. In terms of 780 SLI, again in my main rig in a Carbide 540 case I run a 360 and 240 rad with a 3930k. Temps are excellent with idles at 21C on both cards and 39C at full load (overclocked to 1200 MHz Core). CPU overclocked to 4.5 GHz for 24/7 use at 55C max at full load.

I thought they'd fixed that issue?
I agree though, I'd rather have a tube res (or combo) unless available space meant that a bay res was the only option.

Nice rig btw :)

Thanks again for the help :)
