Whats the PC for?
Thats a very slow CPU to be buying new.. tbh if you dont need a decent processor you might be better off with a celeron or something. Or if you go socket 939 you can get much more power for the money.

You'd be better getting a cheap C2D chip and motherboard. It would offer you much better performance even at stock. AMD chips are rubbish don't invest in them! :D That PSU looks rather dangerous too!

This would be ten times better even at stock. You could probably get 3GHz+ out of this if you overclocked too. Going down the AMD route is a bad decision I would go for a core 2 duo system. Like this:

Intel Core 2 DUO E4400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.00GHz (800FSB) - Retail £81.99
(£96.34)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) £94.99
(£111.61)
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3P (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £74.99
(£88.11)

Shipping : £8.25
Total : £305.76

From that thread it looks like a new PSU isn't a bad option but don't make the same mistake again and get a cheap one, decent PSUs tend to start from around £40 up.

As for the AM2 specification above it is hopelessly mismatched, you have an expensive motherboard but with a really cheap CPU. mishima has given you a much better specification with double the Ram and a much faster CPU for only £30 more. :)

yeah i see your point.. the only reason i wanted to get the £115 board.. was because it gave me the chance to upgrade well into the future.. so i hear.. well the other board that mishima was saying about probley does the same.. was just a friend who said get this board its great.. ect.. can run 2x SLI @ x16.. and he showed me an £85 board its still good.. but with SLI it ran them both at x8... .. but if on own.. would run 1 at x16

Hello mishima if your still there can u list me a complete system.. everything u put already and include.. erm HDD , Grahpics card , PSU , Case , ect.. i got monitor.. and keyboard ect.. also trying to keep at the budget theme.... doesnt look like i need to budget with the prices at the moment

Hi there,

I'm still here :) how much do you have for the graphics card? What size monitor do you have? Any preference for case colour?

ah ok i got 19" monitor TFT.. is a Hanns-G so supports up to 1280 by 1024 res
i would say £100 on graphics card would be ok.. and black case pls

Ah also i would say £400-500 budget on this system ether way.. would be better than what i had

I'll have to leave the spec to you as I have to go work now, spec him a good one ;) I was thinking of an Enermax 535W PSU, Samsung Spinpoint HDD, need to know what size monitor and rest of budget for GPU, the Akasa Zen would probably be ideal for case although he may want something with better build quality.

Ok thanks mishima erm ive never used the ATI cards so.. i may just stick with the geforce kinda know what im getting..

yeah a slower one than ati... im a massive nvidia fan ive never had ati but if there was a faster ati card for the money i know what id get

also mishima i had the 535 psu in my spec for him

Since I haven't seen a full system in here yet I figured I'd put one together from a few posts and my own ideas, just over the £500 but you do get a good overall system which will allow some overclocking. :)
