Hi
Been considering a new system to replace my ageing Core 2 Duo 8400 system that I built in Nov 2008.

I've put something together below, if some local gurus can have a look and suggest improvements please. Mainly for gaming, with the usual office tasks, web browsing etc in between. Budget is £500-600. Have monitor, keyboard & mouse.

Please see my note below

Do you need the 1TB external HDD? You should be able to get an 8320 and a 270X without that taking up budget space.

Sorry missed a few things. First of all.. apologies, didn't relaise system valuations weren't allowed here.

OS not required, have Win7 64bit, an SSD is not required, have a Samsung 256gb SSD. The HDD is for mass storage.. pics, films music etc.. I guess the portable hard drive isn't really needed, I have an 80gb drive for transferring stuff for now and can get the 1tb at a later date, so that £63 can go on the rest of the components.

What does the R9 offer over the R7? It has more stream processors, but it appears to have slower core and memory speeds?

Is the stock cooler on the AMD CPU just not up to the task?

I quite like the Zalman tower so will probably stick with that.

I didn't think a 550w PSU would be big enough for such a build?

Thanks for all the help!
