Hi Guys,

I've just finished putting this spec together - what do you think? I haven't included a PSU as I don't know how much power I'll need... Can anyone recommend me one? My only requirement is that it must be very quiet.

Thanks, Nick

OK, cool. Does the spec itself seem OK then? Nothing I've chosen that could be improved upon for the same/similar cost?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the X1800XT outperforms the X1900GT for the exact same price. I suppose the X1800 has a noisier cooler, but you'd probably be better off with it than the X1900.

You're quite right, the X1800XT is quicker at almost everything. Only reason I'm going with X1900 is the quieter cooler. Also, I hope that future games may favor the newer tech on the X1900.

I would save your money on the ram and go for 1 GB, that way you can get a HIS 1900 xt. Add a further 1GB of ram when you have the money. You will appreciate the difference and the extra 256 of vid ram will help negate your lack of physical ram. The card will spank your current selection.

You can easily add to your ram, not so easy to add to your vid card without a total replace, much more future proof and you'll love the extra power of the XT
