Hi all.

Going to be ordering soon, this is what i'm thinking:

Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804)

Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

VAT : £56.86
Total : £381.77

I'm going to be keeping my X1800XT 512 and my Seasonic S12 430w for now.

What you think?

I've got a bigger budget, can go anything up to £500, but i cant afford a new graphics card and psu.

Thanks :)

Looks good mate, can't fault it. If you wanted to stretch the cash towards the higher budget you could look at a Corsair PSU, but not needed really until you upgraded the graphics card.

might be worth dropping to the ballistix 5300 as people still seem to say it overclocks to 8500 speeds or close too.

i'd swap the ninja for the noctua.

Thanks for the replies :)

The 6400 ballistix is on this week only anyway, may as well get it when its cheap.

Is the noctua considered a better cooler?

main reason for the noctua over the ninja is that it bolts to the mobo and the ninja uses pop plugs, i just think the ninja is too much metal for plastic plugs.

matter of personal preference tbh people on here use the ninja and are more than happy with it.

well mp260767 you seem to have on yourself, how would you rate it for its cooling ability as im sure thats why he is looking to get one.

from what i've seen its supposed to be decent, also has the advantage that it can be run passive with decent case cooling.

that ram has had some good reviews on various sites and has been clocked up to 900MHz from the stock 667MHz, plus its also £40 cheaper then the G.Skill.

hope this helps :)
