I am currently toying with the idea of building myself a new system. Seeing as I'm still running my 6 year old home-built Athlon XP 3000 based system, it's about time I had a new one ! !

Looking at these parts for now:-
Asus Rampage Formula X48 DDR2 motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz CPU
Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 (2x1Gb for now.. more later)
BFG GTX260oc (216 stream gpu)
Seagate Baracuda 7200.11 1Tb SATA hard drive
Pioneer DVR-216 SATA DVD-RW
NZXT Hush classic case
Enermax Infiniti 720w PSU

Was only going to get 2Gb of DDR2 for now & will get some more later. Wanted to stick with Nvidia if possible for the VGA. Will probably add a BlueRay reader/writer at a later date as well.

What do you guys think ? ? Any good ? ?

I would go with 4GB right away, it's relatively cheap and more RAM is good especially if you're going to use Vista. Apart from that it looks good, the Asus Rampage is a great mobo :)

If your running 32bit operating system you wont use all the ram.
You could get away with a lower wattage PSU part from that enjoy.

Cheers all for the replys....

Will be running 32bit Windows XP for now. Will probably wait and see what the "new" Windows 7 or whatever that's going to be called is like.

Anybody have the NZXT Classic case ? ? Is it OK for this system cooling wise etc ? ?
