Theres a couple of extra things in there to get the old pc working, but apart from that any recommendations?

The 80gb Seagate seems expensive, I would change this to a Samsung 320gb F1, The Samsung F2 will be fine for a storage.

Its actually 2 of them, ones to go into my old pc to get it running so I can give it to my old man & I was going to use the other to just put windows on, good idea/bad idea?

Anything with the words Eco and Green in it are guaranteed crap.
Ditch the F2 & go with the F3 then should I?

I've been out the loop for about 5 years so any help is appreciated.

Oooh, last thing I knew it was good to have windows on it's own drive, what's changed in the last few years?

Well, smaller drives used to be faster, that's not the case anymore. The other argument was so you can replace your o/s without losing your data, that's still fair - but o/s are alright now, you don't have that problem anymore.

The F3 is a fast drive, good bang for buck. If you want a smaller, performance drive for your o/s, I'd say get a WD Raptor 320GB.

There's always the SSD option, but I'm not confident enough to recommend those to you yet, they're still a bit new.

Cheers for the advice guys, i'll take a look at what you've recommended later when I get the chance.
