Would change the mobo and ram,

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £151.99

cheaper and it does amazingly good in the benchmarks even came ahead of the UD7.

OCZ Obsidian 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600Mhz Triple Channel Kit (OCZ3OB1600LV6GK) £114.99

Same as your spec'd ram just cheaper.

Seen some iffy reports about the Gigabyte board?

I plan to buy another 6GB of ram in a month or so is the OCZ stable in 2 pairs of 6GB?

Its for a video editing machine so stable it neeeeeds to be!

There is also a lot of glowing reports aswell... I would go with the ud3r without a doubt.. it is a lot better.

Dont know why you would ever need 12gb of ram.. Not even the lastest cad software dosen't use anyware near that much, let alone video editing!!! But yes the ocz is fine.

Adobe Premiere and After Effects - 6/12GB is what I'll start with and 24GB is what I'll end up with. I'm using 8GB of DDR2 now and its maxed out with just PP
