Hello all,

I'm looking for some advice on an (almost) new build for around £800. I will be gaming on a 23" monitor, and I already have a PSU (Corsair HX 520W).

Bear in mind I haven't built or overclocked a PC for over 5 years, so I'm completely out of touch. Does the following look suitable? Is it "balanced"?

EDIT: I've just realised I've made the rookie error of choosing a mobo with the wrong socket. What's a suitable 1150 board to replace it with? The cheapest that will actually allow me to overclock. Perhaps the MSI Z87I?

If you change to matx(the matx prodigy is the same size as the itx version) then you have more choices for a decent mobo.

Hmm, interesting. I hadn't realised there was an mATX version. Can you recommend a good mATX Z87 motherboard? (I assume this is the chipset to go for). Is there anything wrong with the cheapest one OCUK sell?:

Is the R9 280X preferred over the GTX 770? They seem to be of fairly similar performance.

Am I correct in thinking that the non-K Haswell chips cannot be overclocked since they have a locked multiplier?
