Hi posted something similar a year ago but im sure things have changed by now.

Anyway I want to be doing Intermidiate level works on 3Ds Max and my 3.4 ghz P4 system is just slowling down on me, also would be doing gaming too.

Just the tower specs please, and maybe a good LCD monitor for graphic work?

Budget £800+ for tower you can stretch it out as much as you want as long as you think the upgrade justifies the cost.

Monitor can be viewed seperatly to that budget, so knock yourselves out on what would be a good LCD for a 3D designer at intermidiate level, would say about £150-300.

Definitely get the ultrasharp over over the above monitor. It uses an eIPS panel which is far superior to the TN panels used in most LCD's for colour reproduction and viewing angles which I assume would aid you in graphics design.

hmm i think the intel core2quads will be much better:D Q9550 my mates go one it renders stuff like lightning but i definately fink it needs to be overclocked likes:D

Hmm, I've been told that Intel chips are better for software usage while AMD are more focused on game performance.

Just adds more confusion to the decision, lol.

Any more suggestions on this matter?

Kenny What would say is an alternative good intel spec? (Motherboard, etc)
