Hello, I'm looking at a complete new system so needing everything bar the monitor/keyboard and mouse at the moment. My current resolution is 1650x1080 but I'll look for a much higher resolution monitor in the near future.

My main purpose is to play FSX and that is known to run much better on Intel/Nvidia systems, ideally I'd like a GTX 780 and hoping that prices may reduce when the new AMD cards are finally released.

I've been looking at the pre-built overclocked systems from here and the price hovers around £1,400. This is the budget I have in mind, I would like to overclock to at least 4GHz on the system so will need a good cooler etc.

I don't have any preference for colour etc I do like the look of the Corsair Carbide 500R case if that could be taken into consideration however if there is something thats cheaper/better then I'd be happy for the advice.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Thank you. Just two questions, I am aware that OCUK will build the system for you, how much does this cost? When using SLI, is it possible to just enable 1 card if a certain game doesn't benefit from an SLI configuration?

Thanks

You will need to call them or post in the CS section if you need to know the price.

As for SLi, if the game does not have an SLi profile, it will only use 1 card.

Thanks for the replies, Yes FSX doesn't benefit from SLI, its pretty much knackered code and the only thing that will run it decently is CPU horsepower.

The first system that was spec'd would a GTX 780 accompany that well? I've never over clocked, am I led to believe that its a relatively simple process, I'd like to aim for about 4.2/4.3 with the 4770K.

Thanks

I like Ethermaster's spec a lot, given it's so CPU bound the dual 680s seem a waste over the 770 while the 4930k is a healthy boost over the 4770k.

It's not often that 2011 shines but this may be one of those rare occasions!
