Spec for video editing

You think the k2 is ugly? Each to there own I guess...

The dark rock doesn't compete which the top three.. D14, TC14PE and K2.. Id pick one of them...

don't need to include a gpu. Read above posts.

I'd go with the TC14PE in that case, one of my fav's. I added the GPU thinking it would ease the CPU, but seeing as the i5k has it's own graphics core, no point really.

Windows are good as long as they don't have fan grilles on them! :p

Its why I love the Switch 810 and hoping for them to make a window for the Ghost.

You could do that youself! Borrow a dremel & cut a big square hole in the side panel, glue some 1/4" acrylic & some edging and your done.

I'd definitely steal the 460 back and OC it. It's still gaming capable and will add CUDA support to the rig. CUDA performance is linked to core speed so overclocking it makes sense. Also you would need a GPU if you wanted to do a 2011 spec as there is no IGP.......

32GB of RAM. Mobo being GB has a Dual UEFI BIOS, 3 year uk based warranty and being the 2011 socket there are Hexcore CPU upgrades available down the road. Cooler is needed as the i7 doesnt have a stock heatsink. The 612S doesnt break the bank and is designed to be quiet, a second fan can be easily mounted (snap on brackets supplied for two fans) for better performance. PSU is modular and has ample power, the silent wings fan really are quiet (I own the 630W version myself).

Look forward to seeing what you settle on :)
