Hi all,

What would you recommend for my build. Already have an Asus x1950 Pro and need the following

case
psu
motherboard
cpu
ram
>= 250gig

Need all this for under £400 if possible. The owner will almost certainly not be overclocking. The rig is mainly to be used for photo manipulation.

Thanks a lot!

edit: and no budging on price :(

You can trim that down by £6 i'm sure, but it'll be a good system.......

Added a cheapo vid card, even though u didnt mention that was needed, but ideally if it is, you could do with a bigger budget for a better card.

All parts you listed (minus that vid card) would be under your budget... ;)

Its not top of the range, but i've still got a few FSP psu's going here after years of use.

They are cheap but reliable, hence why i choose that one and its ATX 2.0.

Oh yeah, oops about the 1950, i did read it then forgot straight away *sigh*, now i know i'm getting old.... :(

If you take the card out the spec, you could get a better PSU.....

And how does the ASrock compare? Ive got a S939 ASrock and tbh it sucks :(

Thanks for your help

keep the psu nothing wrong with it, but instead of the gfx card gett better ram

like geil or corsair, if you can get 2gig

A better PSU would be a better investment, its a budget PC, why buy more pricey ram when the value stuff will work just fine. The board isnt the best, but it fits the budget well and you'll still get some OC out of it.

Seasonic, Corsair, Enermax, or perhaps Tagan, or a higher spec FSP would all be good choices.

Or use the extra cash on something like the Gigabyte S3 mobo instead of the ASROCK. A better quality mobo will be a better investment then memory imo.

Out of interest, what ram is the best for the boards?
