I currently have a set set of Logitech Z4 2.1 speakers and i'd like to replace them with a 2.0 set because the subwoofer is just too big for my room and desk. My usage is fairly mixed between music, videos and gaming but i have a Corsair headset that I use a lot too so i dont mind too much if my speakers aren't the best for gaming.

Would something like the Creative T20 II's be better/worse/the same as my current setup?

Thanks

If you need a set ASAP, then T20 would be a good choice. If you can wait though, then Edifier R1600T come up in the weekly deals for £50 quite often. For £50, there isn't anything that can touch the R1600T without paying quite a bit more money.

Pick up some Creative Gigaworks (as you've mentioned in your post). Have the older T20 model sat on my desk at home. Totally worth the money. Lots of bass and I can hear sounds that simply weren't audible through the monitor. :D

this.

Thanks guys, i'll wait for the Edifiers to come on offer. I know this might be impossibly to answer but does anyone know roughly how often they come up?

Thanks

every two or three weeks, or at least it seems that way sometimes :D

I would grab them the next time they drop because I think the stock is limited and they are now end of line. If the newer versions are going to be stocked they will probably be quite a bit more expensive so it's a case of get them while you can.

That's a shame. Still a great buy at £70 though, £50 would be a 'no brainer', so to speak. Depends what you can afford OP. If it were me, I'd pay the extra £16 for these over the T20 every time, unless desk space was an issue.

Do the Edifiers have a jack for headphones to plug in rather than having to reach to the back of my PC each time I want to switch between headphones & speakers?

Didn't know that my bad. I have connections on my front panel of case but I remember the cables which plug onto the system board were damaged when I first took delivery back in 2008. Should have sent it back but wanted my build to go ahead so I didn't.
