Spec me... a backpack for 6th form

Really? a spec me a backpack for 6th form thread? What's happening these days to kids, where's your style! :/

Is this the same reasoning girls give to shoes?*

*hehe, ZING!

Thing is, I use my bag all the time and I only have the one. Women will buy tat and never use it again. It's not quite the same is it?

My last bag before this I bought for about £30 (relatively a lot of money at the time) and it lasted me over six years.

Ah but I still have my college bag which I use often, it stays in the car for flash outings when I have stuff to haul around - it's a Tommy Hilfiger bag and at the time was £15 !

a bag for sixth form needs to be top range? doubt he will even carry that many books, argos does the job fine :d i think ive had one from argos cost aprox 20-30 for 5 years or so

He never said he doesn't know where to buy a bag. He's just gathering a few opinions from people who've experienced a much wider range of bags than he has.

Not the worst thing to do in the world.

Its a bag to carry stuff in, not advice on a complicated piece of equipment,.

A rucksack is always a worthy investment. I'd rather pay £60 for something that lasts and lasts well than £20 for something which dies within the year.

When carrying stuff reguarly and for trips abroad after a few years they will be torn, ripped and in a state where it will need replaced. Even when looked after pretty well.

Or are you the kind of guy that buys a bag only to use it once every few months when you step outside thus assuming bags last forever ;)

No, I use and abuse my bags pretty badly. My last bag was hanging on by a thread when I eventually had to chuck it. My new one cost me about £50 I think and I used that for everything. I use it every day for work now too and it's still as good as new, just slightly scuffed.

As I said, I'd rather buy a decent bag that will last than some generic tack from Nike or whatever that inevitably looks haggard before it's time and falls apart prematurely. Sure, I paid £50 for my current bag, but I guarantee you I'll still be using it and happy with it in five years time. To me, it is a very worthy investment.

Using it myself, around £45-55 I think.

I have a northface recon as well, did cost me a fair bit, but its worth it. I used it for a year when cycling around london and was very comfortable, didn't make my back sweat, had straps to prevent it rolling around when going around corners at speed and had a padded bit for my laptop. Also it is very well made and designed so can see it lasting many years, especially as I can wear it when skiing.

I agree with the JanSport supporters, my one recently died after a good 7 years of abuse. I got it super cheap in America on holiday as well; if only I had the foresight to buy two. :(

My Nike one is years old now, Been packed toi the brim with cloths books and all sorts and still looks as good as the day i got it.
