Your suggested parts are still not the way to do it.

The i7 8086K you suggested is £599. The i9 9900K is the same price.

Why the 970 Pro ? The 970 Evo is perfectly fine.

Why 32GB Ram ? A gaming pc doesn't need 32GB Ram.

Why a £400+ motherboard ? Again no need for an expensive board when a £250 or similar will allow for a good overclock.


Regarding the monitor then one has has now is actually fine. I was thinking it was 1080p for some reason but it is 1440p. I stand by my comments regarding your spec though.

thanks for all the suggestions.

baisically my step son started doing stupid things and breaking the law with the rest of the chavs in our area. I sat him down and told him what was expected of him over the next 18 months... luckily he changed amd adapted... he went on basic and advanced first aid courses all over the uk...he starts his public service course in 2 college in a few weeks.
I told him 12 months ago that i would put between £50 and £90 a week into my yearly savings club at work for him to buy a car or what ever he wants .. that pays out on dec 7th.
he does deserve it to be fair...he met a lad in comic con early this year...the guy had the x299 7900 intel chip with what looks like an water cooling kit that looks incredible looking.
He now wants the same. he will.be 18 in dec.

He wants my asus pg278q 144p 27inch g sync monitor..

so i dont need a monitor ...just need everything else.
he uses my system at the min...4790k ...980 ti Sli etc ...simple h50 cooler.
gaming at 1440p and streaming $ uploadig .

Hats off to getting him back on track .

You could scale things back a little , gtx 1080ti as it'll still power that screen just fine, ryzen intel of intel to save some cash, RGB AIO .

Later on, lad can buy himself up the basic soft or hard water cooling solution .
